item level 70

I had original ps3 save and got reapers of souls which everything carried over to the new save. I tried to change the item (weapon/armor/etc) level to 70 and still shows up as 60 in game. Not sure what I'm doing wrong or if its a bug. I tried changing the flag from 9 to 265 and doesn't work. Any advice?

What does the flag mean anyway? Thanks!

To Krazeazn... Read the release notes on the latest 116 version of the editor. That should explain the issue you are having better than I could. To Sternbumm.... The flag numbers are what makes items say "Cannot Salvage" for example. There are a few different flag numbers that do different things. I do not know enough of them to give you all of the codes, but when making a new item, its best just to keep the flag number it is given and just make the item trade-able or non trade-able below that section in the editor.

I've had this same problem. I also read the release notes. From my understanding, it sounds like you should be adjusting the level with the up and down arrows rather than typing the number in. Correct?

The thing is, I've tried that. I started out with a weapon at level 60 that I obtained as a drop. On my first attempt I just deleted the text in the field and entered 70. In game, this did nothing. - Next, I duplicated the item, tried again, and got nothing. - I then read this and attempted to change the item level with the arrows on both items. Nothing happened. The only way I could get said item with a new level of 70 was to create a blank item and re-enter all of the affixes.

Since then, I've tried changing the item level on several other items with the same results. Entering the text does nothing. Using the arrow controls does nothing... IN GAME. Every time you load the savefile in the editor it WILL show the items at level 70, but there will be no difference when you load the game on a console. The only way I can get the items I want to be level 70 is starting from scratch.

Now, with all this being said, I could be doing something completely wrong. If so, I'd love to know what that is. :) P.S. I am playing on an Xbox 360.

Follow this path: RawTab> Itmes> Item Collection(Use the button all the way to the right with [...])> item you want to change> digest> legendary level (60) Change to 70
If this works its because you A: didn't click the save item changes button or B: the control got disconnected from the event handler... it will be a few months before i can look at the code.... hope this helps

I'll try this tonight when I get home from work and let you know how it goes.

@kenny45013
I started out with a Maximus I had at level 60. Since then I know that I've tried a Vile Ward, Hammer Jammers, Depth Diggers, The Furnace, etc. I can't remember them all off the top of my head.

one other thing I want to to try set unknown28 if present to 0
Sep 12, 2014 at 9:44 PM
I tried what you first suggested, CKY. On 3 Maximus weapons. The original, the duplicate, and the from-scratch, as I mentioned above.

Original:
legendary_item_level - 70
unknown28 - 60

Duplicate:
legendary_item_level - 70
unknown28 - 60

From-Scratch:
legendary_item_level - 70
unknown28 - 0

So, the legendary_item_level parameter was set correctly on all three before I made the changes you suggested. That wasn't the issue. I changed the unknown28 on the others and they correctly changed to level 70 in game.

Problem solved. Thanks!

so what do you think unknown28 is a level cap applied by the game?? I don't know it just occurred to me to try it because its a new as of patch 1.0.1 and i don't know what it is..

I'm not entirely sure at this point. I think I still have some unmodified items in my stash/inventories from before RoS. I'm going to check them out too. It's possible that it could be some sort of cap because the original Maximus was from D3 Vanilla, now that I think about it. I'll get back to you.

It's starting to look very much like unknown28 is a level cap for D3 Vanilla legendary items.

I've scanned through the raw data of items in my stash and characters looking at that parameter, legendary_item_level and a couple other things. What I was seeing is that even certain crafting materials (Exquisite Essences, which are used to make items BELOW level 61) and such have unknown28 set at 60. Every legendary from Vanilla that I found which was level 60 also had unknown28 set to 60. - The other items that I changed from level 60 to level 70? They also had unknown28 fixed at 60, while legendary_item_level stayed at 70. I have no problem believing that if I change those to zeroes, just like the other RoS legendaries, they'll jump up to level 70 too.

One strange thing I found in all of this was a Manald Heal on my Wizard. This was also from very early D3 Vanilla. It was only level 30, legendary_item_level 30. Weird thing about this one was that unknown28 showed 51. Don't know what that means. I'm leaning toward it being some kind of min-max for legendary tiers to keep items of overly high level dropping while you're progressing.

Also, I know this doesn't have a lot to do with the item level issue, but I did find something else that was kind of interesting about UnKnowen22 on the items. - When I was going through my stash, I found my Boj Anglers (RoS, 70) showed 2140882336 in this field. I then found a pair of Raekor's Striders (RoS, 70) with the same number in that field. I checked a couple other items too...

Boj Anglers (RoS, 70) = 2140882336
Raekor's Striders (RoS, 70) = 2140882336

Sledge of Athskeleng (RoS, 70) = -1616887517
Wrath of the Bone King (RoS, 70) = -1616887518

Stone Gauntlets (RoS, 67) = -1533912120
Magefist (RoS, 70) = -1533912119

That's two boots, two two-handed maces, and two gauntlets that either have the same UnKnowen22 or very close. Got me wondering if that's some sort of ID for item type or some sort. Not too sure on that one. I didn't compare a ton of items.

Anyway, I know this is a lot. I'm sorry. Heh. It's looking to me like if I want to change D3 Vanilla legendaries from 60 to the level 70 cap of RoS unknown28 needs to be changed to 0.

I've had a theory about this but i don't know how accurate it may be

Stone Gauntlets (RoS, 67) = -1533912120
Magefist (RoS, 70) = -1533912119

what i think this is, is the properties list shown at the enchantress that maybe controls which list of affixes pop up when you go to enchant an item? I know from experience I've had 2 of the same item with different enchant lists so i know its a possibility just been trying to figure out how to control it and what we can accomplish with this is still not to be determined a lot of us have theorized about what it can produce but haven't really had the time to try ourselves yet.

Try this
Magefist (RoS, 70) = -1533912119
Magefist (RoS, 70) = -1533912120

see if they both have different lists when you go to mystic to enchant and report back your findings.

Here's what I've got so far. Changing UnKnowen22 on any of the items I was looking at did not alter the Mystic at all. All options remained the same. However...

When working with the Magefist:
-1533912119 --> -1533912120 || Armor 847 --> 954 || No other stat changes.
-1533912119 --> -1533912121 || Armor 847 --> 739 || No other stat changes.
-1533912120 --> -270935653 || Armor 954 --> 384 || No other stat changes.

Working with The Sultan of Blinding Sand:
-270935653 --> 2140882336 || DPS 2293 --> 0.0 || No other stat changes.
2140882336 --> 166141565 || DPS 0.0 --> 2137 || No other stat changes.

-1533912119 - Magefist
-1533912120 - Stone Gauntlets
-1533912121
2140882336 - Boj Anglers, Raekor's Striders
I've found all four of those on armor only.

-270935653 - Spectrum, The Sultan of Blinding Sand
166141565 - The Burning Axe of Sankis
I've only found these on weapons.

It's starting to look like UnKnowen22 somehow controls the base stats of the items, not affixes. That, and they are somehow related to certain item types? Again, I haven't run through and tested hundreds of items and values. The oddity was when I used an "armor" value on a weapon it showed 0.0 DPS, but when I used a "weapon" value on a piece of armor, it still altered the Armor correctly. It's somewhere to begin, I guess, because I saw nothing else changing in game other than the base stats of the items.

Strange- I can't see Unknown28 ; only 25 and 26.

So clicked 'New' then create a new item with 70 but it goes to 60 as well. Will try some more. :)

This is an old thred read the release notes and you will see some of the unknown ites have been identified and exposed on the user interface.

The release notes are atached to the source code history if you look at the source control it explanes every change.

CKY, thanks so much again for throughly answers.

So it seems like 'Unknown28' is found as 'item level'. The issue I am facing is that only one item got into legendary level 70 (maybe by accident) while all others (weapons, armors, all items including legendary gems) are set to 60.

1) I have created new legend items and set it as 70 but still 60.
2) Copied that only one lv 70 item but that copied one goes 60 (while having all same attributes)
3) Duplicated that only one lv 70 item but that duplicated one goes to 60 (while having all same attributes)
4) Tried to change legendary level by clicking arrows to 70 but no luck ; all goes 60.
5) Tried to change legendary level over 70 (like 80) but no luck ; all goes 60.

Provided 'Unknown28' is item level, based on this old thread, I see that 70 and other 60s are all '0'.

Have checked and compared item collection parameters with that 70 and other 60s but could't find any difference. It is funny that only one is keeping 70 while I did try so many times.

Well, even 60, I don't see any issues but just wonder why it happens like. I know I am too addicted to this super wonderful editor so not easy to give up this kind of thing. :)

Since I have spent more than two days on this, maybe I will just go on using 60 but if there can be any advice, it would be so great to know.

Take care and thanks again for all of your works!
